Eric R. Thomas, MBA, PMP, CMC

Originally from New York City, Eric began his career with 3M Company after receiving a degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. While working as internal consultant at 3M, Eric developed competencies in statistical process control and project management. He was soon given the opportunity to lead domestic and international process improvement projects in Detroit, Michigan and Johannesburg, South Africa. He later joined Deloitte Consulting where he managed engagements for multiple commercial clients across many industries including 3Com, Solo Cup Company, and Ross Stores. In 2000, Eric decided to pursue his MBA with a concentration in finance and strategy from the University of Michigan. During his studies, Eric briefly worked as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs and served on a special international assignment for Citibank advising executives in Bahrain, U.A.E, and Turkey. In 2002, Eric returned to consulting—first, rejoining Deloitte and later, working for a boutique consultancy in the DC area where he was promoted to Vice President with responsibility for the company’s $10 Million federal and commercial client service practice. Throughout his work history he has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to professional development by earning his Project Management Certification (PMP) and designation as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC).

Eric serves as a board member of the local chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants, advisor to multiple small businesses, and mentor to early career professionals. Eric is also a member of the American Mensa society and currently lives with his wife and two young children in Upper Marlboro, MD.
